KIM WILDE
In the 1980s Kim Wilde had superstar status boasting No 1s around the world including the US with songs such as "Kids in America", "View from a bridge", "Cambodia" etc. In the late 90s Kim almost retired from the music business when she met her husband and had two children. Since then she has been a celebrity TV host for a gardening-programme on ITV in the UK and writes gardening columns for the Guardian newspaper. In 2002 Festplatte convinced the enthusiastic Kim to record a remake of Steppenwolf's "Born to be wild" as the theme song for the German touring car masters (DTM). The video to the song showed, how attractive Kim still is and prooved, that she sings better than ever.
In 2003 she was back in the public eye with a Top 3 chart success in Germany, No 1 in Holland and Belgium, through her duet with German singer Nena "Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime". Recently she performed highly successful live shows in the UK, Australia and Continental Europe.
Her new album "Never say Never" (produced by Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen for Lily GmbH, Switzerland), has been released on 8th September 2006 by EMI and includes many brand-new songs, several re-makes of previous hits and, at least, one "surprise"-duet. The first single on this album "You came" was released on August 18th everywhere in Europe and achieved top chart and radio-chart status in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, France, Belgium etc.
Into the new year 2007 her follow-up single "Perfect Girl" will continue her success-story.
