Ivo Swiss-born Ivo was Festplatte's first signing in 2001. The good-looking singer, who writes most of the lyrics and music himself, released his first CD "All In All" through Sony in Germany and Musikvertrieb (Switzerland, Austria and) in October 2002. His debut album was produced by legendary producer Neil Dorfsman (Sting, Dire Straits, Tina Turner, Bruce Springsteen etc.) and received much critical acclaim. His distinctive voice and the quality of his beautiful rock-tracks and -ballads have been demonstrated on 2 major european tours, supporting 'Lisa Stansfield' and columbian superstar 'Shakira'. Throughout the summer of 2003 he played major festivals in front of more than 100'000 people. In April 2004 Ivo and his band performed three sold-out shows with the Kollegio Orchestra of his native city of Stans in Switzerland. "Ivo by Strings" was not only a success with his fans, it received fabulous reviews by the critics and further prooved his outstanding musical abilities. Since then, Ivo has been writing songs for his new album, which was recorded during most of 2005, produced by renowned top-producer Thomas Fessler, who has produced many Gold-and Platinum-status albums. The first single-release "Somebody New" was mixed by world-class Producer Chris Lord-Alge, who rarely has a week without any of his work in the U.S.-or U.K.-Charts. His follow-up single "She's the reason" spent 8 weeks in the Swiss top 30 Airplay Charts. "CLOSER", the sensational latest album is undoubtedly his well-deserved break-through.
